There is only one mode of public transportation in Mykonos island, the local bus system, but it runs only in high season. The bus service does not run on a regular basis and may only run every few hours , especially in winter.
It should be noted that there are no buses traveling across the island, going from one side of the island to the other. Also, there is no direct connection with the port.
Every bus goes to a bus station at Mykonos Town (also kwown as Chora, the capital) and any changeovers for the next bus destination must be made from a station there. The journey from the airport to Mykonos (southern bus terminal) takes about 15 minutes. A bus ticket costs € 1.60.
